Tauranga North Link (Stage 1) involves constructing a 6.5 km long, four-lane roadway linking SH2 near Loop Road, Te Puna, to SH29 Takitimu Drive Toll Road. It features a shared walking and cycling path along its entire length, a new on-ramp from Fifteenth Avenue to SH29 Takitimu Drive Toll Road, and modifications to the interchange between SH2 Tamatea Arikinui Drive and SH29 Takitimu Drive. This project aims to enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion, support regional growth, and provide safe, sustainable travel options for pedestrians and cyclists.
