Key features of the project include:

  • New Wastewater Pump Station: Designed to handle up to 1.8 million litres of wastewater, this station plays a critical role in managing the area’s wastewater needs.
  • Innovative Infrastructure: The pump station will pump wastewater up and over the new bridge across the Waikato River, showcasing advanced engineering solutions.
  • Largest in Hamilton: The Peacocke wastewater transfer station is the largest of its kind in Hamilton City, demonstrating significant investment in infrastructure to support community growth.
  • Substantial Below-Ground Construction: Much of the pump station is built up to 8.5 meters below ground level, ensuring efficiency and resilience.
  • Cultural and Educational Elements: The above-ground structure features artwork and interpretive signage, providing insight into the area’s history and cultural significance.
