Papakura to Drury (P2D) is the first stage of NZTA’s motorway widening project between Papakura to Bombay. This upgrade turns the current 4 lane 2 way SH1 to be 3 lanes in each direction from the Papakura interchange to the southbound BP Service Centre. This project will help support the growth in South Auckland infrastructure and improve the Southern Motorway’s resilience within the network. Axell provides contract administration services for the P2D project. The project is currently under construction and forecasted to be completed in November 2024, allowing for the next stage of the Southern Motorway upgrade to commence.
